APA Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist
Senior Associate
Fiona graduated in physiotherapy from the West London Institute of Higher Education in the UK and completed a Masters degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney.
She has held senior positions in paediatrics and physiotherapy outpatients departments at hospitals in London and Sydney.
She joined the practice in 1996 and has a special interest in movement dysfunction and motor control training. She believes that our movement patterns (the way we move) affect our bodies in a widespread manner, therefore she takes a holistic approach to assisting with disorders throughout the musculoskeletal system.
Fiona combines manual physiotherapy involving deep tissue releasing and joint mobilising techniques with motor control and postural pattern training. She is also trained in craniosacral therapy, dry needling and teaching a Tai Chi sequence for arthritis sufferers.
She is collaborative author of two papers on diagnosis and therapeutic care in spinal pain in the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies.
