Sherston Sheridan
B. Ex. Phys; Dip. Health Sc. (Massage Therapy)

Exercise Physiologist
Sherston has a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology from the University of New South Wales, Sydney and is an accredited exercise physiologist (AEP).
She also has a Diploma in Health Science in Massage Therapy.
She has been working within the practice for four years as a massage therapist before expanding her role as our Exercise Physiologist.
An exercise physiologist is a health professional who specialises in the delivery of exercise therapy, lifestyle and behavioural modification programs for the prevention and management of chronic diseases and injuries such as neuromuscular and musculoskeletal dysfunction, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, depression, cancer, arthritis and respiratory disease.
Sherston is interested in working with people who have postural, movement and breathing dysfunctions, and those who are apprehensive to start an exercise program.
She is particularly interested in incorporating the principles of The Key Moves™ Programme of Therapeutic exercise into her tailored programmes – the integrating of correct breathing, postural and movement patterns into dynamic movement, whether it be activities of daily living or in general fitness and exercise programmes.
She has a particular interest in making exercise available to all persons, regardless of age or physical capability.
Sherston herself is a competitive athlete and particularly loves swimming, road cycling, paddling and running, with a penchant for endurance events. She also practises Iyengar yoga.
It is through her experience in these sports, yoga and The Key Moves™ Programme of Therapeutic Exercise that she has grown to appreciate the benefit of not only correct technique and good training protocols (which include having specific exercise prescription for ones needs, eating a healthy diet and allowing for adequate recovery and rest time) but also the importance of adopting correct breathing, postural and movement patterns in the prevention of injury and disease.
