Welcome to Edgecliff Physiotherapy Sports and Spinal Centre
A Practice Dedicated to Excellence and Quality Care
The practice was established in 1985 by Josephine Key, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. Her vision, shared by her team, is to provide a holistic, state of the art musculoskeletal physiotherapy service in a caring and professional environment.
The practice is considered to be a centre of excellence in the assessment, diagnosis, effective treatment and comprehensive management of pain and movement disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
We treat people of all ages, in all stages and walks of life.
We not only aim to fix your problem but also address the various factors which have caused or contributed to it.
Optimise recovery and prevent recurrence
At the initial visit you will undergo a comprehensive assessment after which the therapist will form a diagnosis and recommend treatment and management options.
All the physiotherapists provide highly skilled manual ‘hands on’ treatments and will also prescribe a tailored ongoing exercise programme appropriate to your particular needs to help you manage your problem and to optimise recovery and prevent reoccurrence.
As part of our unique service we have developed the innovative Key Moves™ Programme of Therapeutic Exercise and Movement Classes to provide appropriate exercise therapy for spinal pain and related disorders in a small group learning environment.
These classes are attended by patients who have difficulty in properly performing a home exercise programme, those who have musculo-skeletal problems that require more specialised, extensive and intensive retraining of new movement patterns and people who find that the classes not only help them to look and feel better but are an an effective ongoing way to help their body remain pain free.
The physiotherapists within the practice were appointed because of their clinical experience, attainment of recognised postgraduate qualifications, pursuit of ongoing learning and commitment to remaining at the forefront of best practice.
In the pursuit of improved best practice over many years, Josephine and senior associates within the practice have developed a clinical model and have had this work published in an international peer reviewed journal.
Josephine has recently published a text book on back pain.
The practice has been fully accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Association since 1993 for its commitment to quality assurance and best practice.
