Your first appointment will take between 45 minutes and 1 hour for an initial assessment of your problem. Please allow at least an hour and a quarter. (Subsequent appointments will be 30 minutes, allow 45 minutes)

Please remember to bring in any doctors’ referrals, x-rays or scans relevant to your problem.

What to Expect

Our first step will be to listen to the history of your problem, ask you questions about the behaviour of your symptoms, and then fully examine the affected area by observing and testing various movements and structures in order to arrive at a diagnosis.

We will then discuss a prognosis and treatment plan. You will also receive some “hands on” treatment during this session.

In our practice, we don’t just work on eliminating pain and stiffness – we look for the cause of the problem. We analyse the way you move in response to specific tasks, the way you sit and walk and discuss specific work and sport requirements.

We will endeavour to explain your pain to you – its source and some insight into the reasons for its presence or recurrence.

Our aim is to help you resume normal pain free movement in the shortest possible time and make sure you don’t keep coming back with the same problem.

Payment

Payment is made after each consultation, either by credit card (Visa/Mastercard), EFTPOS, cash or cheque. Please contact us for an up to date list of charges. We have online claim facilities for most health services.

How to Find Us

See the map below for the general location. You can come by train or bus to the Edgecliff Centre or by car and park in the parking stations at the rear of the complex (see details below).

IMPORTANT NOTE: our clinic is best described as “above Coles Supermarket” in the Eastpoint shopping centre (which adjoins the Edgecliff Centre complex).

We are in an open courtyard area that is level with and looks on to Ocean St on the corner of New South Head Rd and Ocean St.

You can get to us by (1) entering at street level from Ocean Street, or (2) by stairs from inside the shopping complex, or (3) by lift from the car park. We are on level 5 in suite 505.

1. From the street: Walk along pavement and enter from street level, 180 Ocean Street. We are in a courtyard at the base of the Eastpoint Tower.
2. From the shopping centre: If you are inside the shopping centre, head to Coles, on the right hand side, just after the butcher you will see a set of stairs leading to a fire door. Go through the door and walk 36 steps up to the courtyard where we are. Unfortunately there is no direct lift access to the 5th level from the shopping centre. If you are on this level and need to use a lift, you need to take the lift down to level 2, and enter the glass fronted lift lobby next to it on your left from which direct access to level 5 is possible.
3. From the car park: If you are in the Eastpoint car park on the yellow level (level 2), go through the glass doors on your right to the lift, take the lift to level 5, walk into the courtyard and turn right. (see more details on parking below)

Public Transport

Edgecliff is two stops from the city by train on the Eastern Suburbs line. You can then walk to us via New South Head Rd, turning right onto Ocean St (1) or through the Eastpoint Shopping Centre (2) (see above). There is a bus terminal above the Eastpoint shops and a cab rank on New South Head Rd.

Car Parking

P1. Eastpoint Centre Parking – Below Coles

• Go down to yellow level, (level 2) park car near speed hump. Enter through glass doors to lift
• Take lift to Level 5
• Turn right at courtyard
• 2 hours free parking available
• No proof of purchase arrangements apply to the Eastpoint end of the parking station

P2. Edgecliff Centre Parking – Below Aldi

• Turn left immediately into car park after entering New McLean St – walk up New South Head Rd, right onto Ocean then into courtyard.
• Ticket validation required showing proof of purchase in Edgecliff Centre
