Physiotherapist with special interest in acupuncture
Micky, is a physiotherapist with a special interest in acupuncture. Having graduated as a physiotherapist from The Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences in 1980, she commenced her study of acupuncture in 1997, which she continues today. As a holistic physiotherapist she believes the body has the ability to heal itself and it’s the role of the practitioner to facilitate this healing process.
MIcky has trained in traditional acupuncture and later undertook training in Japan in meridian acupuncture and non-insertional acupuncture for infants and children with sleep disorders, tonsillitis, bed-wetting, tics and digestive problems. Her study today focuses on the use of acupuncture in physiotherapy.
Micky has extensive experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, including running her own private practice for over 17 years. She joined the Edgecliff practice in 2004, where her main work is in spinal problems, exercise therapy and movement dysfunction. Her treatments include acupuncture, breathing techniques, and exercise and movement rehabilitation. She uses acupuncture to compliment her musculoskeletal treatment and as part of the healing process for non-musculoskeletal complaints.
